In The Employer Spotlight: The World Bank
Last month, goDCgo and The World Bank teamed up to launch the Capital Bikeshare corporate program in style! In one day, goDCgo sponsored four Confident City Cycling classes at The World Bank headquarters, reaching over 100 new and not-so-new bike commuters.
The World Bank had recently become a corporate partner of Capital Bikeshare, allowing their employees to get an annual membership to the District’s bikesharing program at a reduced rate. To kick off this exciting new partnership, the first 100 employees to sign up for the onsite bicycle education classes, conducted by the Washington Area Bicyclist Association, received a free membership to Capital Bikeshare and a special gift – bike helmets! Response to the event was overwhelmingly positive and employees expressed enthusiasm and appreciation for their new alternative transportation option. Excitement among staff quickly spread with the news about Capital Bikeshare, which is just the latest in the World Bank’s consistent efforts to support sustainable initiatives.
If your organization would like to promote Capital Bikeshare or biking in general as a viable, healthy mode of transport to your employees, don’t delay in contacting us here at goDCgo. We would be happy to sponsor a bicycle education class at your workplace or help you to become the newest Capital Bikeshare corporate partner!
